2022 Summer Computer 1 : Basic Digital Arts
This class will be about basic digital drawing using Procreate. Students will learn how to use technology to their advantage while creating art. There will be seven classes about software features and drawing techniques.
Hardware: Laptop, Apple iPad, Apple pencil or any stylus
Software: Procreate (purchase in iPad App Store, it is about $10 or so, we reduce this class fee from $5 to $3 and students could buy this software).

2022 Summer Computer 2 : Advanced digital Arts
Software: Procreate (purchase in iPad App Store, it is about $10 or so, we reduce this class fee from $5 to $3 and students could buy this software)

2022 Summer Computer 3:Digital Arts Design&Product
This class will cover digital arts and design using Procreate. Throughout the course of this class, students will learn how to and gain further experience with using technology to create art and express their creativity through digital design.
There will be seven classes which will consist of both art projects and lessons about software features and design techniques. Students will be able to strengthen and advance their skills and experience with digital art.
Prerequisite: Students have taken basic and advanced digital arts class in 2021 or Spring 2022.

2022 Summer Computer 4 : A Character/Fashion Design
This class will be about digital character and outfit design. Students will learn how to tell stories through character design and create outfits. There will be approximately 8 classes with each class focused on a specific aspect of character/fashion design. Each class will also have a hands-on portion for the student to make their own creative designs.
Hardware:
– Laptop/Computer
– Apple iPad with Apple Pencil/any compatible stylus or a graphic tablet that can be attached to the laptop or desktop.
If the iPad owned is among the following, Ipad air 3 / 4 / 5th Generation, Ipad Mini 5 / 6 Generation, Ipad pro 12.9 3 / 4 / 5th Generation, IPad Pro 11 inch, or IPad 6 / 7 / 8 / 9th Generation, then this stylus is a relatively well-priced option as opposed to an Apple Pencil.
If an iPad is not owned or is incompatible this tablet can be attached to a laptop or desktop and can be used. A stylus is included.
Software:
iPad – Ibis Paint X (Free app that must be downloaded in app store beforehand)
If instead of an iPad, a graphic tablet for a computer/laptop is used – Fire Alpaca ( Free software that can be downloaded using the following link: https://firealpaca.com/download/)

2022 Summer Computer 5 : Snap!
We will introduce new coding class with the language Snap!. This coding language is simple to use because instead of coding using traditional coding, it uses coding blocks. This can help grab the attention of students because there are many shapes and colors involved. We have teaching material for 30 classes. For returning students, if you have registered two times Snap! class before (have learned 20 classes), you will start class from teaching material class 21 ~ class 27.
Students:
12+ years old

2022 Summer Computer 6 : Web Design
This class will teach both HTML and CSS. HTML and CSS are 2 different languages that are used to develop and style web pages. Although HTML and CSS utilize basic syntax and logic, combined, they can create both innovative and attractive web pages.
Topics that will be covered in this class include:
– Basic HTML syntax
– Embedding images and videos within HTML web pages
– Using CSS to enhance HTML web pages
The class will also offer two projects in order to practice these topics.

2022 Summer Computer 7: Discord & Group Game Exploration
Discord is a messaging and digital platform designed for creating communities. Like we have an FCSN community, Discord can be used to unite everyone who is interested. Discord has many functions in which students can voice call, video call, text message each other and congregate in a social “server.” Our FCSN server will be a place where students can learn to socialize and learn their way around Discord, while also working together to play games, communicate, and build relationships. For returning students, they will skip Discord part and join the group playing from the first class.
Students:
– 12+ years old
– Some computer operation experiences such as typing and mouse clicking
– Can follow teachers’ instructions with help from teacher assistants or parents
– Is ready to socialize and have fun with each other in a gaming environment.
Computer/Mobile Device: Windows or Mac Computer capable of downloading and
running 2d games like slither.io and 3d games like Roblox.
In addition to a computer, have a mobile device capable of downloading and running mobile apps/games.

2022 Summer Computer 8 : Explore Coding Through Games 1
A fun way of learning how to use block-based programming with video games
like Plant Vs. Zombies, Minecraft, Flappy Bird, and more, Code.org is a new class
that will help students grasp the basics of coding and inspire them to pursue a future in coding.
Throughout the course, students will learn all about the power of functions, variables,
for loops, and much more all the while having fun with attention catching characters.
No prior coding is required nor expected. We will have class materials for 28 classes
in the first CS Fundamentals: Express course and will be expanded on as students finish the course.
Students:
10+ years old
Some computer operation experiences such as typing and mouse clicking

Computer: Any computers with access to internet and a browser
