The Asian Service Disparity
Data from the regional center shows that Asians make up 19% of its client population but are only utilizing 13% of its services. The disparity indicates a significant portion of Asian families do not understand their entitlement to access resources and services for their loved ones with disabilities.
With funding from the Department of Developmental Services, FCSN supports and empower Asians with disabilities to access regional center services.

Topic: Crisis Intervention Services (危機介入服務)
At our Zoom meeting on July 18, 2025, we are pleased to welcome Alexandra Roldan, Program Director of Creating Behavioral Educational Momentum (CBEM) and Natalie Acosta, Program Assistant Director of CBEM, to talk about “Crisis Intervention Services.”
Crisis Intervention Services for special needs are supports for people with disabilities, such as autism, intellectual disabilities, or developmental delays, when they experience serious emotional or behavioral crises. Trained professionals step in quickly to help calm the person and keep everyone safe. They work to understand what caused the crisis, whether it’s stress, frustration, mental health issues, or other triggers.
These services also help families or caregivers learn ways to handle similar situations in the future. The crisis team creates a plan to prevent future crises and connects families to longer-term services like counseling, behavior therapy, or respite care. The goal is to keep the person safe, avoid unnecessary hospital stays, and help them stay in their home, school, or community.
In this session, we will explore more about this service. If you’re interested in learning more, we invite you to join us!
