South Bay Social Recreation Programs

FCSN is now an approved vendor for social recreation services with the San Andreas Regional Center (SARC). The below classes are funded through RCEB’s Purchase of Service (POS).

Please DO NOT register for classes directly below. The registration buttons below are for individuals paying out-of-pocket. Instead, follow the instructions below.

  • If client is new to FCSN’s social recreation program, please contact your SARC service coordinator promptly to request that social recreation services be added to their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and have the referral packet sent to us. Once approved, request service coordinator to issue a POS to FCSN that will cover all the hours of the classes that your child is enrolling in. To register for classes, you will need to submit both the IPP and POS. Once we receive the IPP and POS, we will send you a link to complete the application and consent forms and register for the classes.
  • If you are an existing or returning client, please contact your service coordinator to request the POS to be issued to FCSN that will cover all the hours of the classes that your child is enrolling in. Once we receive the POS, we will send you a link to register for your classes.

Social Fun Groups

Community Social Gathering

Participants will engage in fun social activities with peers through art, dance, and hands-on interactive play while developing social and communication skills.

Sports & Fitness

Sports Fun (Basketball, Pickleball, Badminton)

Session 1 or Session 2; $140

Session 1 and 2 : $210

The program teaches basic skills of basketball, pickleball and badminton. Students can choose to enroll in Session 1 or Session 2 or both. There are 7 classes in each session. The 8th class on the final day of 10/19 is open to all students and we will play games and have a celebration party.

Students will learn:

  • Basketball techniques and practice game playing.
  • Hitting techniques using pickleball paddles and practice game playing.
  • Skills using badminton rackets such as bouncing birds, basic shots, and practice playing with an opponent.

This is a great opportunity for students to socialize and enjoy team sports with other students and volunteers. At the end of each class, the volunteers and special needs students will have a game playing together to create an invaluable experience of social integration and inclusion.

What to Bring: basketball, paddle, and racket if possible. FCSN has limited number of paddles and rackets to be shared among students. Parents should stay near the court at all times.

Music, Dance & Drama

Group Dance

This class provides a positive and encouraging space for students to learn dance moves, stay active, and have fun. Our class goal is to help students to exercise through dance while bonding with each other and building lasting friendships. Classes will consist of icebreaker activities, a warm up, rhythms exercises, dance follow-along choreography and group games. Students will be able to interact with their peers, the teacher and other volunteers. Teamwork and fun games will provide great opportunities for students to improve their social and communication skills.

No equipment from home is necessary, but if you would like to bring a yoga mat for comfort, you may. Also, please come wearing comfortable clothing to move around in.

This is singing and dancing class where participants to learn to sing and dance together.  The students will be divided into small groups to sing and dance for 25-30 minutes each.  It is a great opportunity to social and enjoy music with other students and young and talented teachers.

Abacus Fun

Discover how our Abacus program can be a game-changer for students with special needs. Our program is designed to enhance brain development, sharpen observation skills, and improve concentration and focus through engaging and interactive activities. By using the Abacus, students not only strengthen their cognitive abilities but also build confidence and problem-solving skills.

This inclusive abacus program pairs each participant with a 1:1 youth helper, supporting and promoting social interaction opportunities for our special needs students.

LEGO Robotics
