Bridget Claycomb is a staff attorney for Disability Rights California’s Youth Practice Group. A former elementary special education teacher, she joined DRC in August 2016 after graduating from William and Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia. In law school, she was heavily involved with the Special Education Advocacy Clinic, representing students and families at individual education plan meetings, eligibility meetings, and manifestation determination meetings. In her free time, she served as secretary for the local school district’s special education advisory committee and helped advocate for changes to the district’s restraint and seclusion policies. Bridget is a former Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund intern, a 2014 graduate of the Institute for Special Education Advocacy, and recipient of the William & Mary Special Education Advocacy Award.
