Dear FCSN memebrs:

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather and the summer. Over the past few years, many new families have joined FCSN, but have not actively participated in our programs yet. You may wonder what is FCSN all about and what programs/services are provided to special needs individuals and your families? This year, we’d like to introduce ourselves and to help answer your questions. We have set up 2 events for South Bay and East Bay as follows:

Bascom Center 8/13 Sunday, 1:15PM – 3:15PM 1029 S. Bascom Ave. San Jose

Fremont Center 8/20 Sunday, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM 2300 Peralta Blvd., Fremont

The first part of the event will be devoted to FCSN introduction, and the 2nd part for questions and answers. The one hour presentation will include the following topics:

1. FCSN history & culture Jim Chiao (co-president)

2. FCSN family support Jennifer Li (Director of family support)

3. FCSN adult programs Linmei Chiao (Director of volunteer support)

4. FCSN local programs Anna Wang (VP of local programs & community relations)

This event is designed mainly for parents of new families, but old members and anyone else interested are welcome. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet other families. Please reply by email to let me know how many will attend. Thank you.

FCSN Celebrates the Spirit of Fall at the FCSN Chi Am Fall Festival

A small but lively auditorium at the FCSN Fremont Osgood Center was brimming with the festive spirit of fall. The sounds of music and laughter filled the air and a quick glance around the room would reveal a variety of fun fall activities managed by adult and student volunteers. On October 5th at 9:00 AM, forty special needs individuals were gathered here to enjoy the many delights of the pumpkin spice season. Hosted by FCSN and Chi Am Circle, the yearly Chi Am Fall Festival brings together a community to celebrate a season of harvest and happiness...

FCSN is the CFS (Coordinated Family Support) service provider with SARC and RCEB and has started receiving referrals since February 2024. We are so excited to be able to provide this new service to the individuals and their families in need to carry on FCSN’s mission and vision.
FCSN Annual Drama Production: Super Mario Bros with a Twist

On July 13th, FCSN showcased their production of "Super Mario Bros with a Twist" at their annual Summer Drama Camp, held from July 10 to July 12 at the FCSN Fremont Center. The camp allowed participants to engage in auditions, act in diverse roles, and collaborate with others, including other participants and student volunteers. This year's camp reimagined the classic Super Mario narrative, adding unique elements that transformed the familiar movie into a live-action performance.

On October 26, FCSN's South Bay Center held a cafe concert in celebration of the spooky Halloween season. Organized by Sufen Wu, the event featured live music, trick-or-treating, and a costume parade, showcasing a range of characters from superheroes and royal kings to witches and devils.
