Regional Center Clients (for Purchase of Service-POS Funding)

FCSN is now an approved vendor for social recreation services with the Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB). The below classes are funded through RCEB’s Purchase of Service (POS).

Please follow the instructions below.

• If client is new to FCSN’s social recreation program, please contact your RCEB case manager promptly to request that social recreation services be added to their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and have the referral packet sent to us. Once approved, request case manager to issue a POS to FCSN that will cover all the hours of the classes that your child is enrolling in. Once we receive the authorized POS, we will send you a link and a coupon code to complete the application, consent forms and register for the classes.

• If you are an existing or returning client, please contact your case manager to request the POS to be issued to FCSN that will cover all the hours of the classes that your child is enrolling in. Once we receive the authorized POS, we will send you a link and coupon code to register for your classes.

Please note:

1. POS does not guarantee class enrollment which is on a first come first serve basis until maximum capacity is reached.
2. Your class enrollment is considered INCOMPLETE until all required documents and information are submitted. Missing or incorrect documents or information may lead to the cancellation of your enrollment in the class(es).

Regional Center Clients (for Self-Determination)

For Self-Determination clients, you can use your SDP budget to pay for our classes. See the below for procedure.

1. Please contact us and send us the client’s IPP for intake assessment (new clients ONLY).
2. Once we determine the client’s eligibility:
   • Please contact your Financial Management Service (FMS) to send us the agreement for signature
   • FCSN will send you an agreement for signature.
3. Once both signed agreements are received, we will send you the invoice template and send you the class list for you to create your invoice for the classes you have selected. (Classes are on a first come first serve basis until capacity is reached.)
4. Parents / Conservators need to submit the invoice to your FMS and copy Program Director and Accounting
5. Once FCSN receives proof of invoice submission to FMS, we will send you the link and coupon code to register for your classes.

Non-Regional Center Clients

You have the option to pay out-of-pocket.

Percussion Paradise: Session II – Beyond the Beat

Building on the foundation from the beginner class, Session II offers students the chance to deepen their understanding of percussion through new instruments, rhythms, and creative group activities. Participants will continue developing their technique while exploring percussion styles, experimenting with instruments, and engaging in rhythm games and participating in fun challenges that encourage creativity and confidence. The session concludes with a vibrant final performance for family and friends, where participants will showcase their skills.

Previous experience is helpful but not required.

In this Arts and Crafts class, participants will explore the theme of creativity through art projects that will allow them to express their creativity and uniqueness. Art is not just about technique, but it’s about expression. Lego Robotics (Beginners)

Step into the world of Lego Robotics Club, where creativity knows no bounds! In our beginner class, participants will work together to build and explore using the LEGO WeDo2 sets while developing essential skills like reading and following Lego building instructions, teamwork, focus, and problem-solving. Through fun projects and collaborative tasks, they create robots and forge new friendships with their peers.

What to bring to the class: Please bring a Bluetooth-enabled device. It could be an iPad, Android Tablet, Chromebook, Mac Laptop, or Windows Laptop. It needs to have Bluetooth connectivity.

Game Design with Scratch

Create, Code, and Play!

In this fun, two-week class, students will learn basic coding on Scratch and creative art to help them design games. They will engage in hands-on projects and group activities to help them learn skills and develop their ideas. At the end of the class, students will design and create their own game, which they can present and have fun sharing with their peers!

Prior experience with Scratch Jr. is helpful but not required.

Each class ends with an exciting badminton game, promoting teamwork and social interaction. Participants will be divided into groups based on age, level, and skill.
