The Asian Service Disparity
Data from the regional center shows that Asians make up 19% of its client population but are only utilizing 13% of its services. The disparity indicates a significant portion of Asian families do not understand their entitlement to access resources and services for their loved ones with disabilities.
With funding from the Department of Developmental Services, FCSN supports and empower Asians with disabilities to access regional center services.

Topic: Housing Choices Services 住房選擇服務
At our Zoom meeting on April 25, 2025, we will welcome Justin Wang, Program Manager at Housing Choices, to discuss the organization and its work.
Individuals with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities need access to affordable and conveniently located housing services. Housing Choices is a nonprofit organization that offers affordable housing in Santa Clara, Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties for individuals with developmental and other disabilities.
Founded in 1997 by parents and service providers, Housing Choices was created in response to the need for affordable housing for people with disabilities. Without access to such housing, many individuals would be unable to transition successfully from living in the family home to living independently in the community.
The organization’s mission is to enhance the lives of people with developmental and other disabilities—and their families—by creating and supporting quality, affordable housing opportunities. They work to ensure that everyone can enjoy fulfilling lives in homes of their choosing.
In this session, we will explore more about this important service. If you’re interested in learning more, we invite you to join us!
